XS-Pro Fly Vest - 11619
The new XS-Pro Fly Vests follow the modern concept of a single, mid-length vest for all purposes, rather than the more traditional short wading vest and long bank vest.
Using our well-tested design practice of starting with all the items you want to put in a vest on the table, we ensure that every pocket is there for a reason and not just because there was space available.
The new XS-Pro Vests use the latest CVC material. This novel blend of 50% cotton, 50% polyester, gives the soft feel of brushed cotton, coupled with the durability and fast drying properties associated with polyester.
DWR Coating
In addition, the material is treated with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. This chemical treatment forces water to bead up and roll off the surface of the fabric, which enhances the water-resistant properties and keeps the fabric light, by not soaking up water. This super durable application will retain its properties even after repeated use & washings.
The main outer pockets use our well-proven box-pocket design, to swallow the largest of fly boxes. This unique design uses a short elastic straps across the top of the pockets, so they remain flat to the vest front, when not in use. There are additional material and mesh pockets on the front of the main pockets for small accessories such as floatants, sinkants, leaders etc.
Two concealed pockets on the front of the vest hold coil retractors for accessories such as snips, scissors etc. Up inside these pockets are further flaps of material to attach forceps. The depth of these pocket cover flaps prevents accessories swinging around when you bend down, which can be so annoying.
Inside the vest are two 100% waterproof internal top pockets, fitted with waterproof zips – somewhere to store valuables such as car keys, licence, mobile etc. One of these pockets houses a micro-fibre sunglass cleaning cloth, attached by an elastic strap. Beneath these are a wide zipped pocket one side and a double mesh pocket plus priest pocket, the other.
On the rear of the vest, we have designed a completely new pocket concept, which is sure to become the ‘norm’ in the future. It has the usual large rear bellows pocket plus outer mesh pocket, however, the rear pocket can be accessed either by a full length zip on one side for large items, or by a short 6” zip on the left hand side. This allows a water bottle or spare spool to be easily retrieved, without having to do a ‘Houdini impersonation!’
