The Snowbee design team decided that it was time for a completely new range of Fly Vests for 2005. We wanted something different - something innovative. So, we started with a blank sheet and a pile of fly boxes and all the gadgets & gizmos the modern day fly fisher likes to carry. Working backwards from this, we designed the vests around what needed to be carried, rather than the other way around. Using this design method, every pocket is there for a specific purpose and not just because there was space available - allowing you to spend more time fishing and less time looking for things!
Our sponsorship of Team Snowbee has proved invaluable, as it is only through feedback from anglers constantly on the Stillwater match circuit, that we can provide innovative designs. When asked what they wanted out of a fly vest, almost all of the team said the same thing - waterproof pockets! It's obvious when you think about it, but no one has done it before, so in bad weather, most anglers wear their fly vests inside their coats - defeating the whole point of a Fly Vest!
Our new designs have waterproof linings with heat-taped seams and waterproof zips to all the main pockets, allowing your fly boxes, reels, spools and accessories to remain dry in the worst of weather. The main body material is a lightweight, breathable Tussor Nylon, which has high wicking and quick drying properties.
