Make no mistake, this tool is well made but not as easy to use as the videos would suggest. My first attempt was a disaster because I didn't know you can't split Uni thread. Second attempt was better. The point is that for an item so seriously over-priced the instructions are a disgrace, truly pathetic. You have to go to the internet to learn the ropes and this is not acceptable at this price. It will be useful and was a Father's Day pressie. I won't buy more MP stuff unless the prices drop.
Thank you for your review, this is a tool that does need practice at first, however you will quickly become very proficient and wonder how you did without one before.
The investment is in the premium design of which you will be able to make thousands of flies. We think in this day and age many manufacturers are using internet video to instruct, not just fly tying, but all aspects of life, however we will pass back your comments. Hope this helps.
The magic tool set when used with Marc Petitjean Magic Tool Hair Stacker provides an excellent kit for stacking all sorts of hairs and feather vanes. I''ve used it with marabou and it is a considerable advance over the old hair stackers which are now in the bin.Manual and price are the only concerns.
