Snipe Wing Pair - The Snipe has long been associated with the dressing of traditional North Country fly patterns. Snipe Wing pairs are extremely challenging to source, and when available, normally sold very quick.
The Snipe feathers on the underside of the wing are much lighter than those on the upper surface. The barring is unique to this feather. The front of the wing can used as a hackle on a range of patterns including traditional North Country fly patterns such as the famous Snipe & Purple, Snipe Bloa, and Edmond's & Lee's version of the March Brown which is still held in high regards by many North Country anglers of today. The quill slips from the flight feathers can be used for wings on Blue Duns etc. In addition there are lots of barred white / black, and dark dun feathers on the inside of the wing.
