Wychwood Flow Pack-Lite Rucksack is a compact 15-litre fishing rucksack designed to carry essential fly-fishing tackle without the bulk of a full-sized luggage bag. Made from durable 600D Cordura fabric, it combines a practical main storage area with rod-tube storage, front-access pockets, mesh tackle pockets and a lighter interior lining that helps smaller items stand out.

The Wychwood Flow Pack-Lite has been developed for anglers who want enough space for a well-organised day’s tackle without carrying an oversized backpack. Its compact 15-litre capacity is suitable for fly boxes, leaders, tippet, tools, a spare reel or spool and other bankside essentials. Plus the essential Flask and Sarnies!
The outer is made from durable 600D Cordura fabric, helping to protect tackle from everyday bankside wear, dirt and changeable conditions. An external rod-tube storage point allows a packed rod to be carried with the rucksack rather than held separately. The front of the bag includes fast-access front pockets, while the interior includes two mesh tackle pockets and an easy-view interior lining to make smaller accessories easier to locate.
The double zips have easy-grip rubber zip pullers, which are practical when hands are cold or wet. Adjustable straps and padded back support help improve comfort when walking between pools, around reservoirs or across uneven ground.
The shaped body measures approximately 250mm wide at its narrowest point and 300mm at its widest, with a depth of approximately 200mm and a height of 440mm. This gives the Pack-Lite a compact profile while retaining its stated 15-litre internal volume.
Suitable for beginners and experienced anglers alike, it offers a useful middle ground between a small chest pack and a substantially larger fishing rucksack. Available from troutcatchers, it is particularly well suited to anglers who prefer to carry a considered selection of tackle rather than their entire collection.

Wychwood Flow Pack-Lite Rucksack Key Features

  • 600D Cordura fabric: A durable outer material designed to withstand regular bankside use.

  • Adjustable straps: Allows the carrying fit to be altered to suit different clothing layers.
  • Padded back: Adds cushioning around the main pressure areas.
  • Flat-pack design: Takes up less room when being stored or transported empty.

Wychwood Flow Pack-Lite Rucksack Top Tips

  • Place heavier items such as a spare reel or large fly box close to your back to improve balance.
  • Use the front pockets for leaders, tippet, floatant and tools that you regularly need during a session.
  • Keep loose flies and exposed hooks out of the mesh pockets, where they may catch in the material.
  • Use a small fly wallet or sealed box for used and damp flies.
  • Secure the rod tube carefully before walking through trees, gates or heavy undergrowth.
  • Check that the tube does not extend far enough above the bag to catch low branches.
  • Avoid forcing excessive tackle into the 15-litre compartment, as overfilling makes items harder to find and places strain on the zips.
  • Keep bottles of floatant, sinkant and fly dressing upright inside a sealed pouch.
  • Store phones, keys, wallets and fishing permits in a separate waterproof bag.
  • Adjust the shoulder straps after adding or removing coats and waterproof clothing.
  • Pack frequently used items towards the top of the main compartment.
  • Keep a small cloth or towel in the bag for drying hands before handling leaders and flies.
  • Open the compartments and allow the rucksack to dry naturally after a wet session.
  • Brush off dried mud before storing the bag.

Very good product really happy using this instead of a shoulder bag.

Does what it says on the tin. Not really specifically designed as a fishing bag. Just a rucksack coloured green I think. But it suits my needs. Mesh pockets could be a little bigger. A coat strap on the back and maybe some D rings on the front straps would make this bag perfect for me but otherwise very good value for the price.
